Colitis, also known as "non-specific ulcerative colitis," is an inflammatory response caused by pathogenic factors (such as infection, autoimmune reactions, etc.) that stimulate the mucous membranes of the colon and rectum. The most typical symptom of colitis is diarrhea, characterized by a "pain - urge to defecate - bowel movement - relief" pattern. Accompanying symptoms include lower abdominal pain or colic, loss of appetite, nausea, and so on.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
1. Avoid alcohol and tobacco, and do not eat raw, cold, greasy, or spicy and irritating foods. These can stimulate the colonic wall to produce an inflammatory reaction, causing the disease to recur or worsen. 2. Avoid overeating. Eating too much can increase the burden on the stomach and intestines, leading to gastrointestinal dysfunction, and causing the disease to recur or worsen. 3. Avoid excessive fatigue. Under conditions of excessive fatigue, the body's immune function decreases, making it easier for the disease to occur or worsen. 4. Maintain a peaceful mindset and avoid emotional excitement. Because adverse mental stimuli can cause excessive excitation of the vagus nerve, reducing the protective function of the intestinal mucosal barrier, making it prone to ulcerative colitis.
