Moxibustion Treatment

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Children

Symptom Analysis

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), also known as hyperactivity disorder, is a common psychological disorder in childhood. It is characterized by inattention and short attention span, excessive activity, and impulsiveness that are inconsistent with the child's age and developmental level, often accompanied by learning difficulties, conduct disorders, and poor adaptation. Surveys have found the prevalence rate to be between 3% and 7%, with a male-to-female ratio of 4 to 9:1. Some children continue to have symptoms into adulthood, which significantly affects their academic performance, physical and mental health, and family life and social skills as adults.

Moxibustion Acupoint Selection

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

1. Avoid minor brain tissue damage, avoid infections caused by viral infections during pregnancy, medication, premature birth, post-term birth, brain hypoxia, cesarean section, and other infections, as well as external injuries. Avoid deficiencies in trace elements and environmental pollution poisoning.

2. Parents should communicate with the patient, participate more in cooperative entertainment activities, and improve the function of specific areas of the brain responsible for reading, writing, attention, and motor coordination.
