Moxibustion Treatment

Pediatric Anorexia

Symptom Analysis

Pediatric anorexia refers to a prolonged loss of appetite or a decrease in appetite, commonly seen in children aged 3-6. The symptoms include vomiting, lack of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal bloating, and bloody stools, among others. There are many causes for this condition, such as poor eating habits, infections, gastrointestinal diseases, etc. If left unchecked, it can lead to malnutrition and growth retardation. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that this disease is caused by improper diet or feeding, congenital deficiency, and acquired imbalance, leading to a dysfunction of the spleen and stomach. By using moxibustion for point regulation, targeting the spleen and stomach, it can strengthen the spleen and stomach, and supplement the vital energy.

Moxibustion Acupoint Selection

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

Food therapy recipe: Eight-treasure bean porridge.
If a child sees food but does not find it appetizing, feels full and stuffy in the stomach, is tired and thin, has a dry mouth and likes to drink water, and has yellow urine and is irritable, you can fry an appropriate amount of peanut kernels, sunflower seed kernels, and walnut kernels until crispy in oil. Then, fry and boil 100 grams of tofu in oil until cooked, add an appropriate amount of mushrooms, herbs, and peanut and walnut kernels, and season with soy sauce, salt, and scallions to bring to a boil. Finally, drizzle with sesame oil to serve as a side dish. This can help to soothe the stomach, generate body fluids, and moisten dryness.
