Common cold, fever, headache, cough, wheezing, stiff neck, and shoulder and back pain, etc.
On the back, below the spinous process of the 1st thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Step 1: Sit up straight and lower your head; Step 2: On the posterior midline, at the junction of the neck and upper back, you can feel a prominent vertebral spine (the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra); Step 3: Move one vertebra lower from this prominent spine and then measure two horizontal fingers (place the index and middle fingers side by side, using the width of the middle finger's proximal interphalangeal joint as the standard for 1.5 cun) to the side of its lower edge, and that is the location of this acupoint.
