On the back, below the spinous process of the 12th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Step 1: Sit up straight or lie prone; Step 2: The intersection of the line connecting the highest points of the pelvis (the highest points of the iliac crest) with the posterior median line is the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra; Step 3: Push up vertically from the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra for four vertebral bodies to reach the spinous process of the 12th thoracic vertebra; Step 4: There is a depression below the spinous process of the 12th thoracic vertebra, and 2 horizontal fingers lateral to this depression (place the index and middle fingers side by side, using the width of the middle finger's proximal interphalangeal joint as the standard for 1.5 cun) is the location of this acupoint.
