Main Diseases for Treatment

Epigastric bloating and pain, gastrointestinal rumbling and diarrhea, inability to swallow food, jaundice, thirst, hepatitis, cholecystitis, and biliary ascariasis, etc.

Acupoint Location

On the back, below the spinous process of the 10th thoracic vertebra, 3 cun lateral to the midline. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)

Acupoint Selection Techniques

Sit up straight or lie prone. From the horizontal line connecting the lower angles of the scapulae intersecting with the spine at the vertebra (the 7th thoracic vertebra), push down for three vertebrae (i.e., the 10th thoracic vertebra), then measure 4 horizontal fingers laterally from the spinous process, and press where there is a sensation of soreness and swelling, which is the location of this acupoint.
