On the waist, below the spinous process of the 1st lumbar vertebra, 3 cun lateral to the midline. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Sit up straight or lie prone. Take a line across the navel around the abdomen and waist for one week, and the point corresponding to the center of the navel is the 2nd lumbar vertebra. From here, push up for 1 vertebral body (i.e., the 1st lumbar vertebra), then measure 4 horizontal fingers laterally from the lower edge of its spinous process, and press where there is a sensation of soreness and swelling, which is the location of this acupoint.
