On the buttock, level with the second posterior sacral foramen, 3 cun lateral to the median sacral crest. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Lie prone. Starting from the highest point of the iliac crest at the back of the pelvis, feel inward and downward along the sacral horns on both sides to identify a prominent bony protrusion (the posterior superior iliac spine). At the same level as this protrusion, the central prominence of the iliac bone is the spinous process of the first sacral vertebra. Push down one vertebra to reach the second sacral vertebra. Measure four horizontal fingers laterally from this vertebra, and press where there is a sensation of soreness and swelling; this is the location of this acupoint.
