Deafness, tinnitus, otitis media, toothache, lockjaw, facial palsy, facial pain, trigeminal neuralgia, facial nerve paralysis, jaw pain, difficulty opening the mouth, temporomandibular joint inflammation, and mumps, etc.
In the facial area, in front of the ear, in the depression formed by the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Step 1: Sit upright or lie on your back. Step 2: From the tragus of the ear, move forward by one horizontal finger width to reach a high bone, which is the zygomatic arch. Step 3: Directly below this prominent bone, there is a depression which is the acupoint; when you open your mouth, this depression closes and the bone becomes more prominent.
