8 cun above the tip of the external malleolus, 1 cun lateral to the Ribbon Opening (ST-38) acupoint, and 2 horizontal fingers lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Step 1: Sit upright with knees bent. Step 2: First, determine the midpoint of the line connecting the end of the popliteal crease and the tip of the external malleolus (the distance between the popliteal crease and the tip of the external malleolus is 16 cun). Step 3: Then, starting from the anterior edge of the tibia, measure laterally along the horizontal line at the midpoint to two horizontal fingers (the width of the middle finger), where the muscle is full just in front of the fibula, and pressing it feels heavy; this is the location of the acupoint.
