Hemiplegia, lower limb atrophy and numbness, beriberi, waist and knee pain, as well as sciatica, sequelae of stroke, etc.
On the lateral side of the thigh, 5 cun above the popliteal crease, between the vastus lateralis muscle and the biceps femoris muscle, or 2 cun directly below the Wind Market (GB-31) acupoint. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Step 1: Stand upright or sit comfortably. Step 2: Measure two horizontal fingers (thumb place) straight down from the Wind Market (GB-31) acupoint (refer to "Wind Market"). Step 3: Press between the two tendons where you feel a sensation of soreness and swelling, which indicates the location of the acupoint.
