In the waist area, on the posterior midline, in the depression below the spinous process of the 1st lumbar vertebra.

Sit upright or lie prone. Starting from the Life Gate (GV-4) acupoint (refer to "Life Gate"), move upward along the posterior midline for the length of one vertebra (i.e., the 1st lumbar vertebra), and the depression at the lower edge of its spinous process is the location of this acupoint.
