On the lateral side of the lower leg, 5 cun above the tip of the external malleolus, on the anterior edge of the fibula. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)
Step 1: Sit or lie supine. Step 2: Locate the midpoint between the tip of the external malleolus and the head of the popliteal crease (the distance from the tip of the external malleolus to the head of the popliteal crease is 16 cun). Step 3: Measure downward from this midpoint by four horizontal fingers (with the index, middle, ring, and little fingers together, the width of the four fingers at the level of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the middle finger is 3 cun, also known as the "one-fu" method), on the anterior edge of the bone on the outer side of the lower leg (the fibula), which is the location of the acupoint.
