Main Diseases for Treatment

Chest pain, cough, asthma, excessive phlegm, insufficient milk secretion, mastitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, pleurisy, intercostal neuralgia.

Acupoint Location

On the lateral side of the chest, at the fourth intercostal space, 6 cun from the anterior midline. Alternatively, the acupoint can be located 2 cun lateral to the nipple. (This acupoint is bilateral, one on each side.)

Acupoint Selection Techniques

Lie supine. Measure two horizontal fingers (the width of the thumb) laterally from the nipple, at the intercostal space where the nipple is located (the fourth intercostal space), and press where there is a sensation of soreness and swelling; this is the location of the acupoint.
