In the back, located below the spinous process of the 8th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline. (This acupoint is a pair, one on each side)
Step 1: Lie prone or sit upright; Step 2: Determine the lower angle of the scapula when the upper arm hangs naturally against the chest wall; Step 3: The intersection of the line connecting the lower angles of the scapulae with the posterior midline is at the 7th thoracic vertebra; Step 4: Push vertically down from the spinous process of the 7th thoracic vertebra to the next vertebra's spinous process, which is the spinous process of the 8th thoracic vertebra; Step 5: There is a depression just below the spinous process of the 8th thoracic vertebra, and 1.5 transverse fingers lateral to this depression (the transverse diameter at the thumb interphalangeal joint is 1 cun), is where the acupoint is located.
