The scope of regulation is quite broad, among which the acupoints in the upper chest are used to regulate heart and lung diseases as well as upper limb conditions; the acupoints in the lower chest are used to regulate gastrointestinal diseases; and the acupoints in the waist are used to regulate waist, abdominal, and lower limb conditions.
From the first thoracic vertebra to the fifth lumbar vertebra, 0.5 cun lateral to the spinous process, there are 17 acupoints on one side, totaling 34 acupoints on both sides.
Lie prone or sit down and lower your head. Starting from the prominent bone at the junction of the neck and back (which is the 7th cervical vertebra), follow and push down to the first thoracic vertebra (there are 12 thoracic vertebrae) to the fifth lumbar vertebra (there are 5 lumbar vertebrae). From the base of each spinous process, measure half a transverse finger laterally and press where there is a sour and swollen sensation, which is where the acupoint is located.
