In the nape of the neck, directly above the posterior hairline by 1 cun, vertically below the external occipital protuberance, in the depression between the two trapezius muscles.
Step 1: Sit upright and lower the head, or lie prone. Step 2: At the occipital region, you can feel a prominent protrusion (the external occipital protuberance). Step 3: Below this protrusion, between the two large tendons at the posterior hairline (the trapezius muscles), you can feel a depression. The spot where there is an aching sensation upon pressure is the location of this acupoint.
