In the head area, directly above the posterior hairline by 2.5 cun, 1.5 cun above Wind Palace (GV-16), at the upper edge of the external occipital protuberance in the depression.
Sit upright, lean over a desk, lower the head, or lie prone. At the occipital region, you can feel a prominent protrusion (the external occipital protuberance). On the upper edge of this protrusion, you can touch a depression. The spot where there is an aching sensation upon pressure is the location of this acupoint.
