Tennis elbow, known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as "elbow strain," is mostly caused by the long-term and repeated extension and flexion of the elbow joint or the wrist joint, as well as frequent pronation and supination of the forearm. Clinical manifestations include swelling and pain on the lateral side of the elbow joint, weakness in the arm, and significant exacerbation when performing flexion, extension, or rotation movements of the forearm and wrist joint. This condition is caused by obstruction in the meridians, and moxibustion can be used to soothe the meridians and unblock the collaterals.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.
(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
