Postpartum abdominal pain is a condition known in Traditional Chinese Medicine. After childbirth, due to the contracting action of the uterus, the lower abdomen experiences intermittent pain, which occurs 1 to 2 days postpartum and naturally disappears after 2 to 3 days. In Western medicine, this is referred to as "postpartum pain" or "uterine cramping." Postpartum abdominal pain is a physiological phenomenon and generally does not require treatment. However, if the abdominal pain intensifies in waves, becomes unbearable, or continues with persistent pain that affects the recovery of the postpartum woman, it is considered a pathological condition and should be treated.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
1. Avoid getting cold during labor to prevent abdominal pain caused by cold. 2. The diet should be light, with more vegetables and less raw and cold food. Foods that are likely to cause bloating, such as sweet potatoes, soybeans, fava beans, peas, milk, and white sugar, should also be eaten sparingly. 3. Food therapy method: Mugwort and Cinnamon Bag Therapy. Fennel seeds 100 grams, ground cinnamon 100 grams, mugwort leaves 50 grams, salt 250 grams, heated in the microwave, wrapped in cloth and applied warm to the lower abdomen on points Guanyuan, Shuǐdào, and Cìliáo, for 15 minutes each time, once a day.
