Moxibustion Treatment

Solar Term Moxibustion: Rain Water - Nourish the Liver and Don't Forget to Regulate the Spleen and Stomach

Symptom Analysis

February 19, 2020 Wednesday

"Spring is governed by the liver," and during spring, the liver is more active. However, the liver, associated with the wood element, can easily overpower the spleen, associated with the earth element. During the Rain Water season, the increase in rainfall can exacerbate dampness, which can affect the spleen and stomach. Therefore, moxibustion at this solar term should focus on dispersing liver Qi to prevent an overabundance of liver Qi from affecting the stomach, leading to symptoms of indigestion such as stomach pain, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation due to disharmony between the liver and spleen.
