Moxibustion Treatment

Myocardial Infarction Recovery and Conditioning

Symptom Analysis

Myocardial infarction is a condition where the heart muscle undergoes ischemic necrosis, occurring when there is a sudden reduction or interruption of blood flow in the coronary arteries, based on pre-existing coronary artery disease, leading to severe and prolonged acute ischemia and necrosis of the affected heart muscle. Clinical manifestations of acute myocardial infarction include persistent severe pain behind the sternum, fever, increased white blood cell count and elevated serum markers of myocardial necrosis, and progressive changes in the electrocardiogram. It often leads to arrhythmias, shock, or heart failure and is considered a severe type of acute coronary syndrome.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, myocardial infarction falls under the category of "genuine heart pain." The disease is located in the heart, and its root cause is in the kidney.

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

1. Myocardial infarction is an emergency and critical condition in cardiovascular diseases, and it should be treated actively and effectively. The moxibustion therapy provided for this disease is only for auxiliary conditioning when emergency doctors are not available in time.

2. During an acute myocardial infarction attack, promptly take compound Danshen Dripping Pills, or Suzhou Xin Pill, or Shengxiang Baoxin Pill under the tongue to relieve pain.

3. Patients should reduce activity, try to rest in bed, receive low-flow oxygen, and maintain emotional stability and regular bowel movements.
