Renal colic typically refers to the sudden onset of severe pain in the renal area caused by urinary system stones, especially ureteral stones. Acute renal colic is mostly due to stones, and most of it occurs in ureteral stones, so the so-called renal colic is actually a large part of ureteral colic. Renal colic is not an independent disease; it is caused by spasms of the renal pelvis or ureteral smooth muscle due to various reasons. Its onset has no forewarning, and the degree of pain can even exceed childbirth, fractures, trauma, surgery, etc.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
1. During pain, drink 3000 to 4000 milliliters of water daily to alleviate the pain. In terms of diet, consume less beans and calcium-rich foods. 2. When the urge to urinate arises, go to the bathroom immediately and do not hold it in, as this can easily lead to the formation of stones.
