Parkinson's disease, also known as tremor paralysis, is clinically characterized by tremors in the limbs, muscle rigidity, and reduced movement. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that conditions such as muscle spasms and convulsions are often attributed to the actions of wind evils, which can be divided into external and internal winds. Parkinson's disease is mainly caused by internal wind, mostly due to the hyperactivity of liver yang, or the deficiency of yin and blood in the liver and kidneys, which fails to nourish the sinews, leading to muscle tremors, rigidity, tense gait, and slow movements.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
1. The course of this disease is long, and it is necessary to adhere to comprehensive treatment and pay attention to nourishment and conditioning. 2. Patients should maintain a pleasant mood and avoid adverse mental stimuli such as sorrow, depression, and anger. 3. The diet should be light, avoiding greasy, sweet, heavy flavors, and spicy foods that can increase internal heat. 4. Participating in some suitable physical activities, such as Tai Chi and gymnastics, is very important for the recovery from this disease. 5. The diet for the day should be diverse, including grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, beans, and meats. Diverse foods can meet the body's needs for various nutrients and also make the diet itself more enjoyable.
