Enuresis in children refers to the phenomenon where children over the age of 3 involuntarily urinate during sleep. Some cases are due to urinary system infections, such as phimosis, redundant foreskin, or vulvovaginitis; others may be due to not developing good living habits or drinking too much water at night. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that enuresis is mostly related to the kidneys and the bladder, that is, when both the kidneys and the bladder are deficient, cold energy takes advantage, hence they cannot control the urination and incontinence occurs, which is called enuresis. Enuresis can have adverse effects on both physiology and psychology. (Note: The following moxibustion methods are only for children over 2 years old)
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.
(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
1. During the conditioning period, parents should actively cooperate, such as controlling the child's water intake before going to bed, and waking the child up on time to urinate to form good urination habits. Parents should actively guide the child to exercise more and strengthen their physique.
2. Do not adopt a mocking or discriminatory attitude towards the child, and guide the child to build confidence in overcoming the disease.
