Moxibustion Treatment

Pediatric Fever

Symptom Analysis

Pediatric fever is a very common condition in infants and young children, mostly caused by colds. Parents should pay enough attention to a child's fever, as it can easily lead to convulsions and seizures at high temperatures, which can damage the nervous system and even brain cells, severely affecting the child's intellectual development. When a child has a fever, first use a moxa cake for the child's foot soak to induce sweating. After sweating, moxibustion can be started to achieve the effect of reducing fever.

Moxibustion Acupoint Selection

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

1. For children over three years old, gentle scraping from Dazhui to Fengmen and Feishu points can be done before moxibustion for better results.

2. If there is no improvement within two days, one should seek medical attention at a hospital in a timely manner. While actively seeking medical treatment, moxibustion can be used as an adjunct therapy.
