Iron deficiency anemia refers to an imbalance between the body's demand for iron and its supply, leading to the depletion of stored iron and a lack of iron within red blood cells, resulting in anemia. It is a common condition in children, mainly affecting infants between 6 months and 3 years old. Iron deficiency anemia can be caused by insufficient iron intake, impaired iron absorption, or excessive iron loss. Patients may experience symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, palpitations, shortness of breath, easy tiredness, dizziness, delayed growth and development in children, and lowered intelligence.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
Iron deficiency anemia patients can eat more animal offal, such as heart, liver, kidney, as well as beef, egg yolk, soybeans, spinach, red dates, black fungus, etc. Supplement with a diet rich in nutrition and high in calories, protein, vitamins, and minerals to help restore hematopoietic function. Avoid overexertion and ensure adequate sleep.
