Abnormalities in the amount, color, quality, and odor of vaginal discharge, accompanied by systemic or local symptoms, are referred to as "vaginal discharge disease." The main cause of vaginal discharge disease is dampness-evil, and the primary pathophysiology involves damage to the Ren and Dai meridians, leading to a loss of regulation or nourishment. The focus of treatment is to regulate the Ren and Dai meridians. Since vaginal discharge disease is characterized by dampness-evil, it tends to be a lingering condition that is prone to relapses and is not easily cured quickly. It often complicates conditions such as menstrual irregularities, amenorrhea, infertility, and masses, making it a common disease among women, second only to menstrual disorders.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
1. Women with vaginal discharge disease should pay attention to maintaining hygiene of the genital area and persist in washing with warm water every day. 2. Before menstruation, it is important to moderate sexual activities, avoid too frequent sexual life, and prohibit sexual life during the treatment period. 3. The diet should be light, avoid spicy and irritating foods, eat more fruits and vegetables, and supplement nutrients. 4. Pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and avoid overwork.
