Moxibustion Treatment

Eye bags.

Symptom Analysis

Eye bags are swelling of the lower eyelids. There are many reasons for the formation of eye bags, some are related to genetics, some are caused by the relaxation of skin and muscles due to aging, and others are caused by poor rest or sleep. Eye bags not only make one look older and more tired, but severe cases can also affect vision.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the function of the spleen directly affects the metabolism of nutrients and water in the body, and eye bags are located right at the starting point of the foot yangming stomach meridian, which indicates that the formation of eye bags is closely related to the function of the spleen and stomach.

Using moxibustion to regulate the spleen and stomach can achieve the goal of eliminating eye bags.

Moxibustion Acupoint Selection

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

To prevent eye bags, first and foremost, it is essential to maintain the body's normal metabolism. Consume foods that help eliminate excess water from the body and reduce edema, such as adzuki beans, wax gourd, and Job's tears. At the same time, pay attention to a balanced diet, and increase the intake of collagen and protein to provide the necessary nutrients for the regeneration of tissue cells, replenish the energy required for the skin to maintain vitality, and appropriately consume more meat, fish, and eggs. Regularly eat foods that protect the eyes and are rich in vitamins A and B, such as carrots, potatoes, and soy products.
