Anemia is a common clinical symptom characterized by a reduction in the peripheral blood red blood cell (RBC) volume below the normal range. Since measuring RBC volume is complex, hemoglobin (Hb) concentration is often used as a substitute in clinical practice. Hematologists consider anemia to be present in adult men with Hb levels less than 120g/L, in adult women (non-pregnant) with Hb levels less than 110g/L, and in pregnant women with Hb levels less than 100g/L at sea level. Clinical manifestations often include weakness, fatigue, drowsiness, pale skin and mucous membranes, dizziness, headache, tinnitus, blurred vision, lack of concentration, decreased appetite, abdominal bloating, nausea, constipation, and in severe cases, palpitations, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing. Anemia falls under the category of "consumptive disease" in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The disease is related to the blood aspect and is closely associated with the spleen, kidneys, liver, and heart. The pathogenesis involves yin deficiency or yang deficiency leading to a lack of nourishment in the blood aspect.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
