In the four seasons, summer corresponds to the fire element, and the heart is also associated with fire, making it susceptible to the heat of summer. After the Start of Summer, the body's Qi and blood gradually move outward, sweating increases, and the heart rate quickens, so it is important to focus on the nourishment of the heart and avoid overexertion. A strong heart can lead to disharmony between the heart and kidneys, potentially causing insomnia. Therefore, during the Start of Summer solar term, moxibustion can be used to warm and tonify the original Yang, nourishing the heart and kidneys.
Apply moxibustion 4 to 5 days before and after the solar term (a total of 8 to 10 days), it is recommended to do it once a day, for 30 to 40 minutes per acupoint.
