Moxibustion Treatment

Bronchiectasis

Symptom Analysis

Bronchiectasis is a condition resulting from chronic purulent inflammation and fibrosis of the bronchi and surrounding lung tissue, which leads to the destruction of the muscular and elastic tissues of the bronchial wall, causing deformation and permanent dilation of the bronchi.

The typical symptoms of this disease include chronic cough, expectoration of large amounts of purulent sputum, and recurrent hemoptysis.

The main pathogenic factors are bronchial infection, obstruction, and traction, with some having congenital genetic factors. Patients often have a history of measles, whooping cough, or bronchopneumonia.

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
