Moxibustion Treatment

Chronic Hepatitis

Symptom Analysis

Chronic hepatitis is often a result of untreated acute hepatitis B or C that has transformed over time. Additionally, immune system dysfunction, long-term use of liver-damaging drugs, drug allergies, excessive alcohol consumption, and certain enzyme deficiencies or metabolic disorders can also lead to the development of this condition.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, chronic hepatitis is primarily attributed to the invasion of damp-heat pathogens and the weakening of the body's vital energy. Applying moxibustion to specific acupoints can help eliminate dampness and clear heat, activate blood circulation and regulate qi, and balance the functions of the internal organs, thereby achieving the goal of conditioning the body.

Moxibustion Acupoint Selection

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

1. Avoid alcohol, as it is a major enemy of the liver, especially for a diseased liver. Excessive drinking can exacerbate liver disease.

2. Eat in moderation, avoiding overeating, under-eating, and high-fat diets.

3. Focus on health care to prevent colds, fevers, and other diseases. Repeated upper respiratory and gastrointestinal infections can worsen liver disease.

4. Avoid the misuse of medications. Medications such as sedatives, tetracyclines, and erythromycin can increase the liver's burden and delay the recovery of liver disease. Additionally, excessive intake of traditional Chinese medicines with hepatotoxicity can induce severe liver diseases.

5. Avoid overwork and negative emotions.
