Jaundice, commonly known as "yellow disease," is a condition where the skin, mucous membranes, and sclera turn yellow due to elevated levels of bilirubin in the serum. The normal total serum bilirubin level is between 5-17 micromoles per liter. Jaundice can be clinically observed when the total serum bilirubin concentration exceeds 34 micromoles per liter, and if the concentration is between 17-34 micromoles per liter, it is referred to as latent jaundice.
Throughout history, the naming and classification of jaundice have been very complex. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, jaundice is divided into two categories: "Yang jaundice" and "Yin jaundice."
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.
(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
