Hypersexuality refers to an excessively strong sexual desire that surpasses normal sexual needs, characterized by frequent sexual arousal, an urgent demand for sexual activity, increased frequency of intercourse, and prolonged duration of sexual activity. The main cause of hypersexuality is an enhanced excitatory process in the sexual center, but most often it is a physiological change or a lack of understanding of sexual knowledge, followed by endocrine insufficiency. Additionally, conditions such as mania, psychosis, certain chronic diseases, and psychological factors, such as repeatedly reading erotic novels or watching movies, being in a new relationship, or excessive stimulation, can also lead to increased sexual desire.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
