Moxibustion Treatment

Nephrotic Syndrome Recovery and Conditioning (Symptoms: Edema, Swelling, Hyperlipidemia, Kidney Deficiency, etc.)

Symptom Analysis

Nephrotic syndrome, referred to as "nephro syndrome," is a group of syndromes caused by various etiologies, mainly characterized by increased glomerular basement membrane permeability and reduced glomerular filtration rate. The typical manifestations of nephrotic syndrome include massive proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, severe edema, and hyperlipidemia.

This condition falls under the categories of "edema," "consumptive disease," and "back pain" in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is believed that symptoms such as edema and proteinuria are due to the disorder of the distribution of water essence, with the lung, spleen, and kidney being the main organs involved in this process. The lung is the site where the disorder is apparent, the spleen is where the control lies, and the kidney is the root of the issue.

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

1. Patients must pay attention to changes in the weather, develop good living habits, and avoid overexertion. Form good dietary habits and pay attention to the nutritional balance of meals.

2. Appropriate physical exercise is beneficial for the recovery from the disease. Such activities include walking, practicing Tai Chi, and Qigong.

3. Dietary therapy recipe: Papaya Peanut Crucian Carp Soup. 40 grams of papaya, 1 crucian carp, half a bowl of peanuts, salt to taste, water, and 1 piece of ginger. Simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, then season with salt. Before consuming, skim off the oil from the surface of the soup to reduce its greasiness.
