Chronic low back pain is a condition caused by long-term strain on the waist, or due to long-term incorrect posture leading to damage of the waist muscles, ligaments, and fascia, mainly characterized by pain in the waist. Clinically, it is mainly manifested as soreness and dull pain in the waist, often with a feeling of heaviness. The pain worsens when sitting for a long time, standing for a long time, and bending over, and is relieved by flexing the knees and hips. The pain is sometimes light and sometimes heavy. Chronic low back pain belongs to the category of "back pain" in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Long-term strain on the waist leads to poor circulation of qi and blood, qi stagnation and blood stasis, which block the meridians, or in the elderly, deficiency of qi and blood, which cannot nourish the waist, can both lead to back pain.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.
(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
