Human kidney, ureter, bladder, and urethra stones are collectively referred to as urinary system stones. Urinary system stones, also known as urinary tract stones, are one of the most common urological diseases.
Urinary stone disease is a common condition worldwide, with a relatively high incidence rate in China, and it is more prevalent in young and middle-aged individuals, with a higher occurrence in males than in females. This disease is related to factors such as long-term bed rest, obstruction, and infection.
Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis Type: Dysuria with pain and difficulty in passing urine or sudden interruption, with increased pain radiating to the waist and abdomen, which decreases after the stone is passed; dull pain and distension in the waist, and distension and dull pain in the lower abdomen, with hematuria or blood clots; the tongue is dark red with possible ecchymosis and yellow coating, and the pulse is taut and tight.
Damp-Heat Accumulation Type: Lumbar pain, urgent fullness in the lower abdomen, or radiation to the genital area; turbid and red urine, urgent and frequent urination with a burning sensation and pain, hematuria, and sometimes mixed with sand or stones; the tongue is red with a yellow and greasy coating, and the pulse is taut and rapid or slippery and rapid.
Spleen and Kidney Deficiency Type: Long-standing stones with difficult urination; sore and heavy pain in the waist and back, weak and soft legs, frequent nocturia, fatigue, poor appetite, abdominal distension, and loose stools; pale tongue with a white coating, and a deep and thin pulse.
It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.
