Moxibustion Treatment

Osteoarthritis of the knee (knee joint pain, meniscal injury, old cold leg).

Symptom Analysis

Knee arthritis is the most common form of arthritis, characterized by the chronic progressive degeneration of cartilage and the formation of osteophytes at the joint margins. It is primarily due to the wear and tear of cartilage and is more common in overweight individuals and the elderly.

In the early stages of the disease, there are no obvious symptoms. Later stages are mainly characterized by deep pain in the knee joint, tenderness, stiffness, numbness, limited mobility, inability to move normally, and joint swelling.

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that this condition is caused by external wind evils and deficiency of the liver and kidneys. Applying moxibustion to the relevant acupoints can nourish and support the liver and kidneys, dispel wind evils, and thus achieve the purpose of improving symptoms.

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
