Hyperthyroidism, also known as "hyperthyroidism," is a common endocrine disorder caused by various reasons leading to excessive secretion of thyroid hormones. The main clinical manifestations include increased appetite, weight loss, heat intolerance, excessive sweating, palpitations, and emotional excitement, which are part of the hypermetabolic syndrome. There is also an increased excitability of the nervous and vascular systems, along with varying degrees of thyroid enlargement and symptoms such as exophthalmos, hand tremors, and carotid bruit. Severe cases can present with thyroid storm, coma, and even life-threatening conditions. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, hyperthyroidism is classified under "stagnation syndrome" and "palpitations," often caused by liver stagnation and internal injury due to emotional stress, leading to the stagnation of liver qi.

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
