Symptom Analysis

Phlegm-dampness refers to the abnormal, viscous, and turbid substances within the body, which are pathological products of impaired fluid metabolism. Individuals with a phlegm-dampness constitution have reduced fluid metabolic functions in their organs, making it easier for dampness to coagulate into phlegm.

The formation of phlegm-dampness is most closely related to the spleen. The spleen is responsible for transporting useful fluids throughout the body and for eliminating waste fluids through the bladder. When the spleen's function is not strong, there is an obstruction in the metabolism of nutrients. The nutrients are not utilized effectively, leading to a "deficiency" constitution on one hand, and on the other hand, waste can linger in the body, forming phlegm-dampness. Phlegm-dampness is a causative factor for many diseases, and the occurrence of many strange diseases is also due to the mischief of phlegm-dampness.

For individuals with a phlegm-dampness constitution, the most important thing is to strengthen the spleen, eliminate dampness, resolve phlegm, and purify the body. Moxibustion therapy is based on strengthening the spleen, boosting energy, eliminating dampness, and resolving phlegm, while preserving the body's Yang energy.

Treatment Course

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes.   Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course.

(If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion.   The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)

Life Tips

1. Diet: Focus on a light and bland diet, and consume more foods like wax gourd.

2. Exercise: Due to obesity and a tendency to feel lethargic, one should exercise according to their specific condition, gradually increasing the intensity and maintaining a long-term exercise regimen.
