Optic atrophy refers to the widespread damage and degeneration of the axons of the retinal ganglion cells. The disease is primarily characterized by the impairment of optic nerve function and the paleness of the optic disc. It is a chronic ocular disease that severely affects vision and is also an eye disease with a high rate of blindness. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, optic atrophy falls under the categories of "green blindness" and "dim and blurred vision." This disease is often caused by insufficient innate endowment, deficiency of the liver and kidneys, depletion of essence and blood, atrophy and closure of the wooden orifices, preventing the spirit light from shining outward, or damage to the ocular system and blood stasis in the meridians, preventing the nourishing blood from ascending to the eyes.

It is recommended to perform moxibustion once a day, targeting 2 to 3 acupoints each time, with each acupoint being treated for 30 to 40 minutes. Rotate the points treated, with a 10-day period constituting one course of treatment, and then rest for 2 to 3 days before continuing with the next course. (If time permits and there is a need, more acupoints can be treated with moxibustion. The specific duration should be adjusted according to one's own physical needs.)
